The front seatbelts adjust to the person wearing them. In a collision, they adapt their force to the occupant’s build and seating position. On long motorway stretches, Pilot Assist provides additional support.
The EX60 receives new features via software updates over the internet. Google is built in, and with the Gemini voice assistant you control navigation, music or phone calls just by speaking.
The boot holds 523 litres, or 1,647 litres with the rear seats folded down. Small items disappear into the compartment under the load floor, and the charging cable, for example, into the front trunk under the bonnet. Because the rear seat folds in three sections, skis fit through the middle while two passengers still sit in the back.

Two electric motors deliver 510 hp and all-wheel drive for snowy roads and mountain passes. The range is up to 660 km, the towing capacity 2,400 kg.
With the largest battery, the P12 covers up to 810 km, so even distant holiday destinations are within reach with only a few charging stops. It delivers 680 hp and also tows 2,400 kg.
The Volvo EX60 starts at CHF 72,000 as the P6 with rear-wheel drive. The P10 AWD starts at CHF 75,000, the P12 AWD at CHF 81,000. The climate control regulates three zones separately, so rear passengers set their own temperature. A heat pump saves energy, and you can preheat or cool the car via the app while you are still having breakfast.
The 2.97-metre wheelbase benefits the passengers in the back. There is also room for their feet under the front seats, which is not a given in electric cars with the battery in the floor. The seatbacks fold at the push of a button.
Your phone charges wirelessly in the centre console, and there are USB-C ports for other devices. Storage compartments in the console and doors hold keys, sunglasses and other small items.
Speed, navigation and driver assistance alerts appear on a display positioned high up behind the steering wheel. You hardly need to look down, so your eyes stay on the road.
With Google Gemini, you talk to the car in everyday language. If you prefer to use your own phone, connect it wirelessly via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The centre screen only shows the buttons you need at that moment. When you engage reverse, for example, the mirror controls appear. This keeps the display uncluttered.
Thanks to 800-volt technology, the EX60 charges from 10 to 80 per cent in 16 minutes at a rapid charger. The P12 takes 19 minutes. With Plug & Charge, charging starts as soon as you plug in, without a charging card or an extra app.
The most convenient way to charge is at home with a wallbox. On a three-phase 16-amp supply, the battery is full in 8 to 11 hours, depending on the version. If you rent or own a flat in a condominium, you first need approval from your landlord or the owners’ association.
Under WLTP, the EX60 has a range of 611 to 810 km. In everyday driving, the range depends heavily on how cold it is, how fast you drive and how much climbing your route involves. It drops in winter.
