Volvo has been strongly represented in Switzerland for many years, and in Baar our car repair shop has looked after this brand since 1969. Thanks to its reputation for safety and reliability, Volvo vehicles have earned a firm place on Swiss roads. Whether it’s family SUVs like the XC90, electric vehicles like the Volvo EX30, or estates like the V90. The wide range of Volvo models appeals to a diverse audience. The lineup now also includes the fully electric mid-size SUV EX60 and the ES90 sedan. Particularly valued are the robust build quality and the technology Volvo builds into its vehicles.

Are you interested in a Volvo, would you like to have your Volvo repaired or serviced, or are you selling it for personal reasons? Then you’re in the right place at Hüsser & Palkoska. Our car repair shop in the Canton of Zug has worked with this one brand since its founding and is personally available to you for all matters related to Volvo.

Your Volvo Car Repair Shop in Baar Since 1969

In Baar, we offer you maintenance and repair services and the rest of our range of services around Volvo vehicles. Specialised in the Swedish car brand since our founding in 1969, our repair shop brings considerable experience to the table. Managing directors Sepp Kälin and Jan-Andrea Christen run the Volvo garage in the municipality of Baar together with their team.

For All Volvo-Related Matters

Whatever your concern may be: if it’s about Volvo, the Autowerkstatt Hüsser & Palkoska is your point of contact. Here you’re at the centre of everything,  browse our showroom, ask about financing options, or have individual service work carried out.

Buying, Selling or Test-Driving a Volvo

You can buy a new car from us, trade in your Volvo, or take a test drive. If you’d like to sell your vehicle or trade it in, we’ll appraise it and make you an offer. We also carry a wide range of inspected pre-owned cars. Book an appointment and we’ll show you the vehicles in person.

Car Rental and Full-Service Leasing

Occasional drivers can take advantage of subscription and car-rental options, while business owners receive full-service leasing offers for their fleet. Our range of vehicle models includes demo cars, estates for the whole family, and electric SUVs. You’ll also find matching accessories such as roof boxes or the Dog Pack with us.

Service, Tyre Changes and Cleaning in Baar

Volvo sets out maintenance intervals in the service plan,  depending on the drivetrain, every 12 months or every 30,000 kilometres. In Switzerland, it’s usually the time that runs out before the mileage is reached.

For tyre changes, October to Easter applies. The law requires a minimum tread depth of 1.6 millimetres; the TCS recommends replacement even below 4 millimetres. Below that, winter tyres lose significant grip on wet roads and snow. We store your second set of wheels in our tyre hotel.

In winter, road salt attacks the bodywork; bird droppings and tree resin attack the paint. Regular thorough cleaning prevents this. In Baar, we run a staffed car wash for this purpose. We remove the residue, clean the door seams, and check for surface rust.

Why You Can Trust Our Car Repair Shop

When choosing a car repair shop, what matters most is knowing what to expect. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.

Experienced and Certified Technicians

Our team consists of qualified, experienced mechanics who receive regular training and certification. They know the Volvo models in detail, from older model lines to the latest electric model. This specialisation shortens the fault diagnosis above all.

Original Volvo Parts and Classic Parts

Every part we replace matches the original that was removed. That ensures the longevity and safety of your vehicle and keeps it within manufacturer specifications. For vintage cars, we source Volvo Classic Parts.

Sourcing parts for vintage cars is more involved. Sometimes the manufacturer still supplies parts for older model lines, often not, and for the same component, suppliers can differ considerably in price and quality. This is where our experience pays off,  we source selectively rather than by catalogue.

Transparent Costs and Fair Prices

With us, there are no hidden items on the invoice, but rather fair prices and clear terms. We give you a cost estimate after inspecting the vehicle, never before. If more damage turns up once we open it than was reported, we tell you before we start the repair. You then decide how much work should be carried out. Some things need fixing right away; others can wait until the next service.

Fast and Reliable Workflows

Time is valuable, and you want your vehicle back in perfect condition as quickly as possible. That’s why we work efficiently, without compromising on quality. If you need a car in the meantime, we’ll provide a courtesy car on request.

Personal Service

Your satisfaction decides whether you come back. We listen and tailor our work to your concern, rather than running through a standard package. Many customers stay with us for years and bring us their next vehicle too.

Volvo Garage With Modern Facilities

Our workshop is located at Sihlbruggstrasse 2 in Baar. Almost two decades after opening, Hüsser & Palkoska built a modern diagnostic centre as part of a workshop renovation. A second expansion followed in 2010, increasing capacity by more than half. As a result, we handle demanding maintenance and repair jobs in-house rather than passing them on.

In 2026, a new site in Neuheim is being added, where we’ll handle bodywork and paint work in-house.

Can I Drop Off My Car Outside Of Business Hours?

Yes. With our Drop-in Service, you can leave your vehicle for repair with us even outside of business hours. You can also pick it up with Collect & Leave outside of our regular opening hours. Please note that repair and service have their own opening hours, which differ from those of sales.

If you have a service, repair, or MOT preparation coming up, book your appointment directly online.
