Customize the driver information according to your preferences. With the still view, only the essential driver information is displayed, while everything else is hidden. In the surroundings view you get the same information as well as active driver support functions and a real-time view of the vehicles around you.
Select your preferred view directly on the central display or program a button on the steering wheel to easily switch between the two views.
The most commonly used controls are located at the bottom of the EX30’s central display. The controls appear only when the feature is available. Would you like to open the tailgate? You have to wait until your speed is low enough.
The widgets on the central display are intelligent. Access navigation, phone and media without swiping. Just tap to use the full functionality.
The welcome screen makes personalization easier. Set the right mood with an ambience theme, activate controls like the one pedal drive and switch on the Pilot Assist.
With the integrated Google apps and services, you can seamlessly connect to your digital life without connecting your phone to the vehicle. Download your favorite apps from the Google Play Store and use them hands-free with the Google Assistant. You can now easily access your music, audiobooks and podcasts by simply saying “Hey Google”.
With the Google Assistant, you can also control certain vehicle functions, make calls, send texts, check opening times and perform the same quick searches that you can use on your phone.
Safe navigation with Google Maps. Enter your destination and receive turn-by-turn directions on the central display. You can also see your remaining range, estimated battery level at the destination, and charging stations along the route.
Over time, Google will adapt to your preferences and make your experience more and more seamless.
Choose your route to the charging station and your vehicle will prepare the battery by preheating or cooling it to the optimum charging temperature. This can have a significant impact on how quickly and efficiently the battery charges once you arrive.
As soon as the charge level drops to 20 percent, a charge reminder is automatically activated. The vehicle then suggests nearby public charging stations on Google Maps.
Select a station and you will be shown detailed navigation with turn-by-turn directions, estimated time of arrival and expected charge level upon arrival.
Charge your EX30 from 10 to 80 percent in just 26.5 minutes at public fast charging stations. With a Volvo Cars wallbox, you can also fast-charge even faster at home. Compared to a standard household socket, your EX30 can be charged up to five times faster. You can plan, start, stop and monitor the progress both at the wallbox and via your smartphone.
The EX30 is equipped with radar sensors at the rear to detect cyclists and scooters approaching from behind. It sounds an alarm if someone in the vehicle tries to open a door.
The alarm has two stages. First, a warning is shown on the central display and the BLIS indicator lights up constantly. If there is an imminent risk of collision, the alarm is amplified. A warning tone sounds and the BLIS indicator flashes.
The EX30 has the ability to steer, accelerate and brake itself to park automatically. It can even handle parallel parking! Just keep an eye on the surroundings and take control if unforeseen events occur.
The vehicle also finds suitable parking spaces. At speeds of up to 22 km/h, it can detect gaps and show you your options on the central display. Choose one and the vehicle does the rest.
With cameras on all sides, the EX30 gives you a high-definition 360° bird’s eye view of your vehicle. This view automatically appears on the central display when you put the car in reverse or approach an obstacle at low speed.
Call up the view at any time and view a 360° and 180° perspective side by side at the same time. No more annoying switching. You can also call up the cameras individually to see a front, rear or side view. View your vehicle and its surroundings in an intuitive 3D view.
When changing lanes, your vehicle can take over, provided there is enough time and space to do so while you keep a firm grip on the steering wheel. This function relieves you when changing lanes.
The vehicle makes overtaking and driving alongside large vehicles easier by increasing and maintaining the distance to the side of your vehicle and the other vehicle. If there are trucks on either side, the vehicle centres itself between them.
The EX30 is designed to avoid or reduce collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists at any time of day or night. The system can provide audible and visual warnings, as well as brake pulse alerts, when a collision threat is detected.
If a collision is imminent, or you move into the lane of an oncoming vehicle at an intersection, the system can automatically brake the vehicle. In some situations, it can even steer the vehicle to avoid or reduce a collision.
The vehicle detects when a distracted or fatigued person is at the wheel. An infrared sensor on the steering column tracks the driver’s eye and head movements. It monitors the blink rate, frequency and speed of the movements. A forward-facing camera watches the road to detect unpredictable driving behaviour. Another sensor monitors the steering wheel.
By analysing this data, the vehicle detects whether the driver is distracted or overtired. In such cases, the vehicle can notify the person to concentrate better or take a break.
