There was a time when our horizon ended at the edge of the village. We were on foot and everything we knew was limited to the reach of our legs. Then people started riding horses and discovered a larger part of their surroundings. It must have been an incredible sensation when the first seafarers from other countries docked on the coasts. Even if they did not always come with peaceful intentions …

Even today, our knowledge of the world only reaches as far as the end of the village. However, this village is the entire planet. When the proverbial sack of rice falls over in China, we hear about it immediately on the internet. By the time the newspapers are printed, it is already “old hat”. However, the connection does not only extend to knowledge. We enjoy food from Italy, take medicine from China and watch films from the USA or France at the cinema. And some of us drive Swedish cars.

Now, it is one thing to buy a guitar from Canada on Ebay but another when buying a car from Sweden (or any other country). It is much more demanding in terms of care, maintenance and repairs. Carburettors don’t grow on trees (if they did, we’d love to have one. We would also plant it right next to the workshop, I promise!). And then there should also be someone who knows about it. With the car AND the carburettor.

In the past, that would have been a bit complicated: Take a horse-drawn carriage to Sweden, talk (in the local language!) to the people at Volvo to get spare parts and … maybe kidnap a Swedish mechanic to do the service in Switzerland. Sounds complicated …

From utopia to reality

Fortunately, the reality is quite different. If you live in the canton of Zug, you don’t have to go through all this. Instead, just come to Volvo in Zug, also known as Hüsser & Palkoska AG. If you want to see a Volvo in Zug up close, just come to us. We have all the latest models in stock (unless you buy our stock empty …) and know how to maintain and repair these cars. In fact, over the course of our history, we have become true Volvo experts. We didn’t even have to learn Swedish to do it. By the way, you don’t have to either to drive a Volvo: The manuals are available internationally. Good to know!

If a car has a small problem, we usually have the right parts in stock. If not, they are ordered and delivered to Zug in record time. Another advantage that would not have existed in the age of horse-drawn carriages. We remove defective parts and fit the new ones expertly. And yes: we thoroughly check afterwards whether everything really fits. In a way, we are more than a dealer for Volvo in Zug: we have become “Swiss Swedes”. Which doesn’t mean that we buy all our living room furniture from IKEA. It’s about cars!

Your friendly neighbours from Volvo in Zug

Volvo cars are rightly said to be the epitome of “Swedish luxury”. Those who want to sell such cars should (in our opinion) also apply the term “luxury” to their own standards in everyday business. Meaning: the most beautiful car is worth nothing if the people selling it treat the customers ugly. It is important to us that they feel comfortable with us. In addition to reliability and quality, this also includes friendly and respectful treatment of all people who come to Zug because of a Volvo. And it may seem like a small thing, but our coffee really is excellent.

Part of being a good neighbour is helping each other. In our case, for example, this means maintaining a sophisticated hotel for your tyres. In fact, this is one of the biggest annoyances when it comes to tyres. No sooner are the summer tyres fitted than the winter tyres have to be stored somewhere (and vice versa). This not only costs space and nerves, but also sometimes leads to the wheels being deposited in a way that is anything but “wheel-friendly”. Our tyre hotel solves this problem for you: we store your summer tyres until the next summer comes and guard your winter tyres afterwards. Of course, they are stored professionally so that they are fully operational when called upon.

Test drive – On the road with the Volvo in Zug

Looking at a Volvo is one thing. Driving one is a completely new experience. That’s why our “Swedes” are not just for looking at. We are always happy to see the happy smiles on prospective customers’ faces when they get out of the car after an extensive test drive. In fact, the test drives often last longer than planned. “We just didn’t want to stop yet” is a phrase we regularly hear. Do you want to experience the magic of these cars? Then we have good news for you: you don’t need a horse-drawn carriage and you don’t have to travel to Sweden: Simply make an appointment with us to test drive the Volvo you want in Zug (i.e. with us). Of course, if you are still unsure which car you would like to give your heart to, you can choose more than one. We look forward to seeing you!
