Who is not happy when their own car looks good? Unfortunately, there are a number of factors that always reduce the beautiful appearance. One of these, of course, is dirt. But what is dirt actually? Is it just dust and dirt? And isn’t it enough to simply wait for the next rain? Our answer is: No! Here are our five favourite reasons for a trip to the car wash:
Reason 1: Road salt in winter
Fortunately, winter does not last 12 months in Switzerland. Nevertheless, it is enough to make our cars miserable. In addition to problems such as snowfall and black ice, it is mainly the road salt that gives every vehicle a hard time. This is because road salt accelerates the formation of rust on the car and can affect the sensors. A good reason to visit the car wash in winter too!
Therefore, our tip: Don’t wait until spring to do the “winter final wash” on your car.
Reason 2: Insects
Animal lovers’ hearts ache when they see how many flies, mosquitoes and other insects perish on their windscreen while driving. The bonnet and radiator grille are also real insect killers. In turn, the small animals (better: their remains) are real paint killers. Leaving them stuck there until the next rain is not a visual issue: you are really doing your car a favour by going to the car wash to remove the remains from your car.
Reason 3: If a bird flies …
he delights the heart with his beautiful singing. Unfortunately, even the little singers have to go to the toilet every now and then. Since birds do not build toilets yet, they simply drop “their business”. In some cases, the little droppings end up on a car. This not only looks unsightly, but is a real problem for the paintwork. Especially when the sun shines on the droppings, they tend to burn into the paintwork. The rule here is: the sooner it’s gone, the better!
Reason 4: Have they dusted yet?
Dust is one of the most underestimated risks for cars. Many see it more as a visual problem. Freely according to the motto: “If I wash the car today, it will be full of dust again tomorrow anyway!”. This is true to a certain extent. And no, it is not necessary to go to the car wash every day. Nevertheless, dust is more than an aesthetic problem: it really does damage the car paint! Another reason to visit a car wash.
By the way, dust is not present to the same extent in all areas. Especially in rural areas, where tractors and combine harvesters are on the road, a lot of “dust is stirred up”. If you live here, you should go to the car wash more often. After all, dust has a real Achilles’ heel: It likes it dry! In other words: when it rains properly, it is first bound by the water and cannot continue its nefarious work. A good reason to be happy about the rain!
Reason 5: Prevention makes sense
A good car wash fulfils several tasks. Firstly, it removes dirt, of course. This includes the aforementioned insect remains, bird droppings, dust, mud, road salt and more. At the same time, it cares for the car and protects the paintwork from “future dirt”. When you take your car to the car wash, you’re not just cleaning it: you’re preventing future problems at the same time. Which is not to say that one car wash will now last you a lifetime. But the car wash at Hüsser & Palkoska AG is not only open one day a year. So you can take it easy when it comes to dirt on your car. If that’s not good news!
Conclusion:
Anyone who washes their car regularly is giving it a great deal of pleasure. Not only does a freshly washed car look nicer: It also removes all the things that can damage the paintwork. Bird droppings and dust are real paint killers. But insects can also damage your car’s paintwork. So how often should you wash your car? There is no general answer to this question. If you drive your car every day, you will need to wash it more often than if it is parked in the garage. Conversely, maybe you washed your car just two days ago and now there’s this combine harvester driving in front of you. In the end, your car is completely covered in dust and dirt. Should you wait a week now because someone once said that the car wash should be done once a week? Certainly not! And if things get bad, they are forced to drive down a muddy dirt track that turns your car into a mud monster on wheels. Then a wash soon is not wrong either.
Apart from the fact that such a car wash is good for the car, it offers another opportunity. It gives you the opportunity to drop by for a friendly “hello” and enjoy our demonstrably very popular coffee. With milk and sugar?
